This was my first trip ever to California and came here to celebrate my 50th birthday.As former hippies, we loved the laid back atmosphere of the town. The 1-bedroom bungalow right on the beach was updated and clean and very comfortable. Yes, the properties on either side were big, new and fancy, but the small ones were perfect for two people. Who needs anything more when the ocean is your front yard. Everything went smoothly with our reservation and stay and we would return in a minute. Living with Pikes Peak out our window is wonderful. To live for a few days on the beach was equally as awe-inspiring. And, we highly recommend that you eat at the Hill Side Cafe in town. We did 4 times!!!".

It was a 25 minute walk along the beach to the longest wooden pier on the west coast. One evening we watched the sunset from the pier, then walked to the end of the pier to have dinner at Ruby's, a fifties style diner. Oceanside is a pleasant town about a 30 minute drive from San Diego, so we were able to go back and forth very easily.".
