Learn to Surf with Surf Ride Surf Camps!

Learn to Surf this Summer…Surf Ride Surf School offers unique all-inclusive Surf Camps, Surf Lessons and Surf Excursions. Whether it’s your first time surfing or you want professional instruction, Surf Ride Surf School has got you covered.
Surf Ride Surf Camps offer the most exciting weekly summer camps for ages 7 and up. The first day of camp is spent at the Wild Rivers Water Park in Irvine, where kids will complete swim tests for water safety, and kids will develop a positive relationship with the instructors. The next four days will consist of many water sport related activities including surfing, stand up paddling, body surfing, and jet skiing in the Oceanside Harbor. The week will also include a visit from a positive pro-surfer who will share his/her experiences with the campers. An educational component will be included, where kids learn about topics such as stingrays and ocean rip currents. A nourishing lunch is provided daily. Parents are invited to come down on Friday to enjoy a BBQ and watch the Camp Surf Contest. The camps will take place at 3 different beaches in Oceanside, Carlsbad, and Del Mar.
Private/Group Surf Lessons are available for anyone wanting to learn how to surf. Lessons can be scheduled for just about any hours of the day, 7 days a week. Transportation is available for your convenience.
Surf Excursions are the premier way to experience the Southern California surf culture, by visiting the best surf spots and local hangouts. A tour guide will show you where famous pro-surfers grew up surfing, surf instruction will be available at the beach of your choice, and the excursion includes a stop at a local coffee house or restaurant that can’t be found anywhere else.
All of the instructors are First Aid and CPR certified, have experience working with children, and complete extensive training. A lifeguard is on site at all times and safety is a priority! Surfboards, wetsuits, and other equipment are provided. Surf Ride Surf School is here to get you surfing and to provide an experience to remember!

VRBO Bear Stay at our Luxury Beachfront Condo in Oceanside!

The Review:
“I just returned from an incredibly relaxing stay in this beachfront property in Oceanside, CA. From the moment I entered through the beveled door, I knew I was in for a luxurious vacation experience.
The well-equipped kitchen, with granite countertops and a spacious island with plenty of seating, was really impressive. As I explored further, the ocean view from the dining area and living room was incredible. The unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean from the outdoor deck was also magnificent!
The 5 well-appointed bedrooms and comfy window seats made it an excellent choice for our bear reunion. My favorite bedroom was the one nearest to the ocean where I was lulled to sleep by the crashing waves.
The highlight of this luxurious condo was the living room’s oversized window seat overlooking the ocean. From there the entire family enjoyed breathtaking sunsets (and bear naps!) and we were thrilled to see dolphins jumping over the ocean waves at dawn and at dusk.
We spent memorable days on the sandy beach that was mere steps away, and we spent the cool summer evenings just relaxing in the condo’s private hot tub looking up at the clear night sky.
Our whole bear clan is already looking forward to another visit to this paradise beach condo.

4th Of July in San Diego!
July 1st, 2010Have plans yet for the 4th of July? The beauty of being in San Diego for this day is this is what San Diego does best – the BEACH on the 4th! Bring the coolers, the umbrellas, and the sunscreen for a full 12 hour day at the beach. Or that is my plan at least. If the beach doesn’t interest you, There are plenty of other activities going on.
One of the biggest events is the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The fireworks will start at 9pm, and then Joan Jett and The Blackhearts will take the stage at 9:30 pm. All exhibit halls and rides will stay open until midnight.
LEGOLAND also has all day festivities and will have a fireworks show at 8:30pm. During the day, family favorite Uncle Sam will be roaming around on stilts, and guests can enjoy old fashioned lawn games, including potato sack races and LEGO Limbo.
In Oceanside, the 17th Annual Independence Day Parade will take place on July 3rd at North Tyson Street Park, going from Coast Highway to Wisconsin Ave to Civic Center Drive. There will be daylong family-friendly activities, but no fireworks.
A little further south, the celebration in Coronado at Glorietta Bay is always one of the top in San Diego. Festivities start on July 3rd and all culminate on July 4 with a spectacular fireworks display, just across the water from the Big Bay Boom. Full schedule of events here.
SeaWorld will also be celebrating Independence day with a patriotic Shamu’s Skysplash USA fireworks show over Mission Bay. Stake a spot anywhere along the shores of Mission Bay, Mission beach or Pacific Beach to catch this show.
